Jazz drummer Tima Volozh is a Brooklyn based, Russian born musician who is quickly making a name for himself as a dynamic voice in the New York jazz scene. Released on Shifting Paradigm Records in December 2023, Tima’s “excellent debut release” (All About Jazz), Jubilee, featuring Paul Motian alumni Jerome Harris (bass) and Brad Shepik (guitar) along with Timo Vollbrecht (saxophone), and Noah Franche-Nolan (piano) received a 4-star Downbeat Review and was presented at Nublu, NYC.

Additionally, Tima's collaboration with bassist Marshal Herridge — EP "Barberia's Delight", featuring pianist Anthony Wonsey, was released in October 2023 on Adhyâropa Records and presented at Threes Brewing, Gowanus, Brooklyn.

Tima is an active presence in the New York City jazz scene, performing regularly and collaborating with a wide range of artists, including Steve Cardenas, Ari Hoenig (on piano), and Cy Leo. Tima is now performing weekly with his piano trio at Antique Garage in Tribeca every Thursday, and at various venues including Bar Bayeux, Nublu, Soapbox Gallery, and Dada.

His past performances include the Clifford Brown Jazz Festival (2022), Avaloch Farm Music Institute Residency (2023), and Open Stages Festival (2024).
