Jazz drummer Tima Volozh is a Brooklyn based, Russian born musician who is quickly making a name for himself as a dynamic voice in the New York jazz scene. Released on Shifting Paradigm Records in December 2023, Tima’s “excellent debut release” (All About Jazz), Jubilee, featuring Paul Motian alumni Jerome Harris (bass) and Brad Shepik (guitar) along with Timo Vollbrecht (saxophone), and Noah Franche-Nolan (piano) received a 4-star Downbeat Review and was presented at Nublu, NYC.

Additionally, Tima's collaboration with bassist Marshal Herridge — EP "Barberia's Delight", featuring pianist Anthony Wonsey, was released in October 2023 on Adhayaropa Records and presented at Threes Brewing, Gowanus, Brooklyn.

In 2022, as a member of Boysie Lowery Jazz Residency, Tima performed at the 35th annual Clifford Brown Jazz Festival in Wilmington, Delaware. In 2023, Tima’s trio featuring guitarist David Blake and bassist Warren Louie was awarded an artist residency at the Avaloch Farm Music Institute.

Lately in 2024, Tima put together a chordless trio featuring saxophonist Kazemde George and bassist Leighton Harrell on bass to perform at Brooklyn Conservatory of Music Open Stages Festival. Additionally, Tima has performed around New York City with musicians including Steve Cardneas, Ari Hoenig (on piano), Massimo Biolcati, Cy Leo and many others.
